In conversation with Brian Dempsey
Brian Dempsey, the new President of IPAV, visited the Daft.ie office recently. We are proud to have a longstanding relationship with IPAV and we are looking forward to working closely with Brian and his team in the months ahead. (L to R: Val, Lisa, Johnny, Sean, Brian, Eamonn, Tom, Hilda and Sarah)
Brian Dempsey, Partner at DNG Stillorgan, Dublin assumed the role at the organisation’s 47th AGM and annual conference held at the Powerscourt Hotel Resort & Spa in Co. Wicklow on Saturday 10th June.
Dempsey who holds an Honours Degree in the Built Environment from the University of Glamorgan, Wales and is an external examiner with ITT (Institute of Technology Tallaght), says he wants to prioritise growth in IPAV’s education programmes during his term of office.
IPAV, in association with ITT currently enrol over 60 students a year studying to gain PRS Licences. A further three Fine Arts programmes educate 50 or more students each year in the Lecture Rooms of IPAV HQ.
“Auctioneering is growing in sophistication and I would encourage those within the profession as well as those aspiring to join it to always be open to new learning so that they can be in a position to offer the very best value to consumers and enterprises.” Mr Dempsey said.
He said there are few professions that have the same capacity to help people grow their personal wealth over time.
“That can be very rewarding,” he said. “It is essential that we use our influence to help the Irish property market grow sustainably into the future.”
He will be setting out his views on how this can be achieved at the forthcoming IPAV annual conference.
