Following the successful launch of Daft.com, we are now very happy to announce that we have just officially launched a dedicated property rentals website in Northern Ireland - Rent.co.uk. We acquired the domain back in September 2009 and have been holding launch until we had the right amount of content available to provide users with quality search results. Today the site lists properties from about 70% of estate agents in Northern Ireland, and targets students and young professionals living and working in Northern Ireland.
Rent.co.uk is an updated design of Rent.ie which we launched in 2009 and is now the largest dedicated property rental website in the Republic of Ireland (Ireland Metrix/Daft Media). With Rent.co.uk we have introduced free text search, replacing the drop down search you can see on Rent.ie. Now a user can simply enter a location, property address or feature (try searching for swimming pool!) to find a property. Rent listings include long and short-term lettings, house shares, student accommodation and holiday rentals. All listings include prices, photographs, virtual tours and interactive location maps with an optional alert feature for recently added properties. The website also includes a dedicated student letting section that provides listings for each of the main universities across Northern Ireland.
We hope that search on Rent.co.uk will provide users with a more interactive way in which to search for property to Rent in Northern Ireland, and we plan to use the site as a test bed for rolling out similar search functionality to other sites in our group.
I will keep you posted on how the site is growing in the next couple of months so watch this space...
